Behzod Abduraimov

Behzod Abduraimov was born in Tashkent and studied with Tamara Popovich at the Uspensky State Music Lyceum and with Stanislav Ioudenitch at the International Center for Music at Park University in Kansas City.

He has worked alongside such leading conductors as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Valery Gergiev, Krzysztof Urbański, Vasily Petrenko, James Gaffigan, Charles Dutoit, Vladimir Jurowski, Jiří Bělohlávek, and David Zinman among others.

He has collaborated with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra and many others.

Among the events scheduled for the 2014-2015 season are his début with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrey Boreyko, a solo recital at Carnegie Hall as part of the Distinctive Débuts series, and a début with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra with Thomas Dausgaard at the podium.

Behzod Abduraimov’s solo disc début was released in 2012 on Decca Classics and took the Choc de Classica and the Diapason Découverte awards. In the fall of 2014 his first CD was released, a recording of the pianist’s concert with the RAI Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Juraj Valcuha. Behzod has an exclusive contract with Decca Classics.
